Taxi Frankfurt am Main Airport

Taxi from or to Frankfurt am Main Airport

The Frankfurt Airport is an international airport located in Frankfurt, the fifth-largest city of Germany. Being one of the world’s busiest airports, transport holds a significant role arriving at and from the airport, to and from the city center.

Frankfurt airport transfer (FRA)

The FRA is an authorized transport service provided by the airport management. It offers exceptional door-to-door service from the pickup location of your choice to the airport. An experienced driver awaits you at the pinned location or outside the baggage claim hall. Cars of your choice can be instantly booked online, on the spot, and even in advance. A variety of cars, such as regular, premium, and business, help passengers decide according to their budget.

After booking with FRA, you will receive a confirmation voucher with full details of the services provided by the FRA. Your flight timings are also provided to the driver to ensure you reach your destination on time, with minimum hassle. Moreover, on-demand through prior bookings, the airport transfer services can also provide baby car seats at a minor additional fee.

Airport taxi transfer

Although the airport does not provide any official taxi system, it recommends using taxis and has established taxi ranks right outside Terminal 1 and 2. It is easy to rent a taxi for quick transfers from the airport to your choice of destination and vice versa. On average, it takes €30 from the city center to the airport. However, to get an affordable quote, it is advised to pre-book your taxis.

The airport also provides taxis through trusted companies, such as Rhein-Main Taxi, Taxi 33 and Taxi Ruf, etc. You can book taxis for personal private travels, business travels, and car-sharing, with the capacity to transport up to 7 people and luggage in one car. If you are arriving at the airport, you can simply tell the taxi driver the name of your airline and the driver will take you right to your designated terminal.

Car rentals and car sharing

The Frankfurt airport represents many major car rental companies at both its terminals, such as Avis, Buchbinder, Budget, etc. For passenger’s ease, they can rent the car on the spot or you can pre-book them to cater to any extra demands. For the budget-friendly transfer to and from the airport, you can also take part in car-sharing services.

You can find car-sharing services at the parking row 611 at terminal 1 at the airport. Popular car share companies available at the airport include Book n Drive and Car2Go. With this service, you can share a car with a few other passengers, splitting the fares. However, this increases the transfer time as all passengers have to be picked up and dropped off to their desired destinations.

Public shuttle transfer

The Frankfurt Airport has bus shuttle stands at terminal 1 and 2 to facilitate public bus shuttle services, long-distance bus services, and the Lufthansa bus express. The public bus shuttle service takes you to and from the airport to the bus stands across Frankfurt, with around 15 transfer points. The public bus service is budget-friendly and helps you save on resources. The long-distance bus shuttle service is available at the bus parking lot P36, at a 5-minute walk.

These long-distance buses provide service that can take you across Germany, as well as all of Europe to and from the airport. Some of the airport’s trusted companies include FlixBus, Flibco, BlaBlaBus, etc. Moreover, the Frankfurt airport also enables Lufthansa Express bus and shuttle service, which you can find at terminal 1. You can purchase tickets for the express bus on the spot, but due to heavy airport traffic, you must pre-book and buy your tickets in advance.

Public train transfer

The Frankfurt Airport has a train station to facilitate passengers arriving through public train transport. The airport offers separate terminals for trains arriving from short distances and trains arriving from longer distances. German Rail operates the long-distance train, and the terminal links the airport with train stations all across Germany, as well as the rest of Europe, to facilitate passengers coming from all over the continent.

Moreover, the airport is directly linked with the Lufthansa Express Rail. The train service guarantees premium comfort with short transfers and a convenient connection to your designated terminal. The airport management recommends pre-booking your train tickets for ease and reliability as the airport is quite busy throughout the day.
