On 6 December 2005, the airport was named after the legendary astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. The official name of the airport is Copernicus Airport Wrocław/ Terminal improvements were publicly unveiled on the same day, raising the airport’s capacity to 750,000 passengers a year.

The airport handled 972,505 passengers in the first nine months of 2007, thereby extending the current terminal area by 1,900 m2 to reduce some of the congestion. During the same period, though, the terminal services would meet with the Schengen Treaty criteria, which was enforced at Polish airports on 31 March 2008.

Wroclaw Airport has a variety of car parks in the vicinity of the terminal, including Car Park VIP, A, B, C, D, and G. Car Park D (Long-term) is the cheapest parking alternative that the airport has to sell. You should make an online reservation for Car Park VIP, A, B, C, and D, although that is unnecessary.
